Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a technique employed for tissue sections mounted on glass slides. It involves the use of specific antibodies and the sequential application of reagents that work together to detect tissue components (antigens). The final stage involves the development of a brown stain where the antibody has become bound and that can be seen with a microscope.
Our immunohistochemistry platform is used on a daily basis for our diagnostic requirements, with all our antibodies rigorously validated before implementation and control blocks used as standard to ensure high quality staining.
We are able to offer our clients:
- Routine immunohistochemistry staining
- Titration and optimisation of antibodies for research protocols
- Undertaking of large scale IHC projects
Molecular diagnostic studies such as EGFR, BRAF, K-RAS, MGP22, HNPCC and many others can be undertaken as clinically required. on paraffin fixed material provided there is enough tissue in the wax block. These are referral tests.
